The image of the Chinese dragon, an animal of legend, originated from totem poles. Legend has it that many tribes settled along the Yellow River about 4,000 years ago, each having its own totem bearing the images of snakes, tigers, oxen, horses, tigers or deer. Huangdi conquered the other tribes and established a tribal union.

From the other tribes' totems, Huangdi fashioned the image of what has come to be known as a dragon. This strange creature had the horns of a deer, the head of a camel, the eyes of a rabbit, the neck of a snake, a clam's belly, the scales of a fish, an eagle's claws, tiger's paws and an ox's ears. The dragon became a symbol of Huangdi's power.

Over the years, the dragon grew to be regarded as the symbol of the Chinese nation, of holiness, auspiciousness and good luck.

In fact they are so different in nature from Western Dragons that it may be more reasonable to consider them as dissimilar creatures, rather than as the same creature interpreted differently.

Some individuals suffer from the misconception that the Chinese Dragon is a symbol of  evil. This erroneous belief stems from the mythology of the western world where the dragon was thought to abduct, wreak havoc on the populace, steal gold and destroy villages. In the mediaeval context the Western dragon was often the symbol of Satan incarnate.

This is not so in the dragons of the orient. In fact it is just the opposite. the dragons of China and Japan are almost exclusively benevolent mythological creatures.

The Eastern dragons were assuredly weather-lords. Floods were caused by dragons fighting in the water and storms by dragons fighting in the air. Lightning was heavenly fire sent to stop the dragon fights, for dragons fear fire. This last might be considered odd, in view of the dragon's own fiery breath, but the Chinese writer Wang Fu said: 'Dragon fire and human fire are opposite. If dragon fire comes into contact with wetness it flames, and if it meets water it burns. If one drives it away by means of fire, it stops burning and its flames are extinguished.'

Dragon Dance

Dragon dance (simplified Chinese: ; traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: wǔ lóng) is a form of traditional dance and performance in Chinese culture. Like the lion dance it is most often seen in festive celebrations. Many Chinese people often use the term "Descendants of the Dragon" (龍的傳人 or 龙的传人, lóng de chuán rén) as a sign of ethnic identity, as part of a trend started in the 1970s. Another derivation is from (農的傳人) i.e. the descendants of Shennong, the legendary first king of the Chinese people who taught them agriculture, law and medicine, the foundations of civilization.

In the dance, a team of people carry the dragon — which is an image of the Chinese dragon — on poles. A dragon can be composed of up to 50 people.[1] The dance team does mimic the supposed movements of this river spirit in a sinuous, undulating manner. The movements in a performance traditionally symbolise historical roles of dragons demonstrating power and dignity. The dragon dance is a highlight of Chinese New Year celebrations held worldwide in Chinatowns around the world.[citatio

April 20, 2009 After years of speculation, details are beginning to emerge of a "kill weapon" developed by the Chinese, which is capable of targeting and destroying US aircraft carriers. The Dong Feng 21 anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) can carry a warhead big enough to inflict significant damage on a large naval vessel, such as a supercarrier, with a single strike. The missile employs a complex guidance system, using low radar signature and a maneuverability that makes its flight path unpredictable. This increases the odds that the missile can evade tracking systems to successfully reach its target. It is estimated that the missile can travel at mach 10 speed and reach its maximum range of 2,000km in less than 12 minutes.

Superstars - Fashion of His Love Fern

We can still be business partners though. I thought you liked this Empress dress I made for you? I'm not your Queen, I told him, I'm a free bitch. Cher is not my Queen, he told me, nor is Tony Blair, and my mother is not a bitch, although many have called her that.

Gaga, he txt me, you're in Hong Kong. Yes here I am baby. It sad we can never get married now, he say. Why is that baby, I ask him? because I am emperor, he say, and the Empress doesn't go before the Emperor in China he say. Who say, I ask? I do, he inform him. Too bad baby I tell him, rules is made to be broken. Thought you love your Adam and want to have children, he say. No baby, I tell him, I want to marry Taylor Kinney, he my man. Okay baby, he say, whatever make you happy, but I tried to tell you it I who love you more than anybody. If I marry you now it will destroy the good luck of China, all are believing this. It pay to know these things. I don't want to even kiss you now, I sorry.

Here  is the pain I'm feeling and extreme sadness right now, he said, and I'M SORRY YOU DON'T RECOGNISE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF MY ROLE AND OF MONEY in all this. I'm down to my last $100 and living on a government pension. You cold easily change this with a telephone call to guardian Trust, and your word to guarantee to see me right until I  can get to court to put my case. You only have one free copy  of my software, the rest of your staff will have to prove their identities, serve a prison sentence and pay me in full, because of your short sighted actions. They are not going to be pleased with you. You could have owned the Royal Mint, but now I shall have to find someone new. It will not be easy because already a lot has been invested in your bid. I don't know how you could have been so stupid as to ignore so many hints and plain statements from me in the mail and face to face.

You happy to be in Hong Kong at last baby, he txt me? It doesn't seem so long since you arrived in South Korea. You had breakfast yet? I given him a few days to think about my news, but he doesn't seem to pick up  on the fact that I'm happy. Still thinks that he is the centre of MY universe, and doesn't realize I'm nice to everybody, and he shouldn't take this personally. Now he trying to tell me my good friend Tony Bennett is a creep and that he made damn sure Tony didn't see me in the altogether, and it was HIM that did that drawing I posed for. He's just jealous. God why to men have to be so possessive? I suppose he is entitled to believe whatever he want, but he living in some hick town end of the world where nothing happens, unless it is a trip out for groceries or church or petrol.

I'm so happy to be in Hong Kong! I say him. We have 4 shows here! Who the hell doesn't know that by now. He not here, even if he thinks he own China's biggest airline, Dragonair.

Can you tweet for me "Thanks for buying tickets my amazing little monsters, I can't wait to rock this city." I ask him? No, he say, fuckn do it yourself. He sad without me sometimes. He just a childish baby.

I can't believe I have to wait 3 days to perform in HK! I txt him. What to do here, nothing. What you up to I ask? I'm reading up on Rilke, he say. Who that I ask?

The dragon is an important and revered symbol in China.

  T

he dragon is a symbol of wisdom, power, and luck in Chinese culture. Unlike western dragons, oriental dragons are usually seen as benevolent and kind. Dragons have long been a symbol in Chinese folklore and art. Temples and shrines have been built to honor them.

Through the symbol of the dragon, many Chinese see divine attributes which they aspire to themselves. In fact, the Chinese are sometimes referred to as "descendents of the dragon." The dragon is held in reverence and respect in Chinese culture. It is unseemly to defile a depiction of a dragon. Dragons are referenced by several Chinese proverbs.

Chinese dragons control the rain, rivers, lakes, and sea. They can ward off wandering evil spirits, protect the innocent, and bestow safety unto all. They are called lung or long in the Chinese language.

They fly in the sky among clouds. Most pictures of Chinese dragons show them playing with a flaming pearl. Legend has it that the pearl gives them their power and allows them to ascend into heaven.

You know, he say. Men. You should tatoo it on your arm, he tell me. What you up to?  Js maybe  practice routines in hotel room, I say.

There are nine types of classical Chinese dragons. They are as follows:

  1. Tianlong, the Celestial Dragons, are the celestial dragons who pull the chariots of the gods and guard their palaces.
  2. Shenlong, the Spiritual Dragons, control the wind and the rain.
  3. Fucanglong, the Dragons of Hidden Treasures, are underworld dragons which guard buried treasures, both natural and man-made. Volcanoes are said to be created when they burst out of the ground to report to heaven.
  4. Dilong, the Underground Dragons, are earth dragons whose task it is to preside over rivers and streams. According to some accounts, they are the female counterpart of the Shenlong and they fly only in order to mate.
  5. Yinglong, the Winged Dragons, are the oldest of all eastern dragons and the only kind with wings.
  6. Qiulong, the Horned Dragons, are considered to be the mightiest dragons.
  7. Panlong, the Coiling Dragons, are water dragons believed to mostly inhabit the lakes of the Orient.
  8. Huanglong, the Yellow Dragons, once emerged from the River Luo and presented the legendary Emperor Fu Hsi with the elements of writing. They are known for their scholarly knowledge.
  9. Lóng Wáng, the Dragon Kings, are rulers over each of the four seas, those of the east, south, west, and north. Although their true form is that of a dragon, they have the ability to shapeshift into human form. They live in crystal palaces guarded by shrimp soldiers and crab generals.

This the dragon you say is the Imperial Dragon on your Emperor robe I ask him? Yes, that's it he say. Did I say that on my robe one word says that fire burns at 350F and is green? 350 not 451F, I asked? Yes I think you mentioned it. And the greek, Mexican and African as well as Persian, (purple) White, and Royal navies? Yes. Okay, he said, because you know the Greek navy is dark blue?
