Re: Ana Ivanovic

country flag A-Bond    Ana is really a phenomen. I mean after RG 2008 she really slumped badly. She's become a little bit better after that horrible 2009, however she still only shows up for like 4 Tournaments a year and suffers bad losses in between. I mean she really could play freely now, it's not like people expect something big from her.

country flag milos.rs  Clearly she is done cause of one reason: she just is not commited enough. She got caught up in side-effects of tennis. You cant have glamour and a succesful sports career.

country flag thegreendestiny  She was NOT supposed to win RG 2008 in the first place. Justine's premature departure in 2008 caused ripples in history. Fate is making amends now and is correcting the unfortunate mistake of the past. These losses are but lead-ups to the eventual destruction of a player who dared to rob destiny just to have a drop from the fountain of greatness.

country flag Halcyon  She needs to stick with a coach first.

marineblue  Well, winning a slam doesn't mean one will become unbeatable
I think Ana will be a top 20 player (at best) till the rest of her career. When I sometimes watch the old matches it's like watching a different person. Her game lost its magic which is sad because she used to be so much fun to watch

Maria Sharapova?

country flag Steven.  Maria (and Serena) are really the only exception in the history of our sport.

country flag sickfalsetto  I love the first post from FighterPova. Very well said. Post like that in SS, too
Even though it's almost certain that her chances of coming to her top form and winning slams are gone, her fans can still enjoy her heydays and get reminiscent of it. It's a pity because she is such a great player in 2008. She should still get her act together and come back somehow and we can always hope

Two years ago there was a girl working in our local supermarket who looked just like you he said. What happened to her, I asked? She went away to university, I think, he said. And you didn't ask her out? No, well I'm in my 50's and she was probably 18, but she looked just like you at that age. I mean, if she had said to me, would you like to take m eout to dinner, I probably would have agreed, but it never happened. She did slip me a free packet of highlighters once though. How would you feel about us using her to make some commercials for our sun products, presenting her as a younger version of you? What sun products are there, I asked. Rice, he said, have you heard of it. Sun rice, I didn't know that was yours I said. Well strictly speaking it is a grower owned co-operative, he said, like sunmaid raisins but I still own the web sites

Mashona Washington-"She doesn't have any 'Oh my God!' shots, but she is a solid all-round player."
On Maria Sharapova.

I went to the zoo, and I saw this camel, and it had its legs crossed, he said.

Was it playing tennis, I asked??

No it was just standing in fenced off area full of sand. he said..

He wanted me to stand in a grocery checkout, scanning groceries.

What are the chances, he asked, of two people being born with exactly the same DNA and facial features. I'm not sure, I said. Do you mean, what are the odds against it, I asked? Yes that's probably what I mean, he said. Anyway, give my proposal some thought, you may well be able to spend some of the income the advertisements will bring in. How much income, I asked? Oh, minimal he said. What do you usually charge? $50,000 I said. I'm not sure we could spend that much, he said, but I'll get back to you when teh advertising guys have come up with a few ideas and scripts. As I say, we will have a stand in model playing you, and you won't have to speak. We may just tie your scream into the product scanner, and then have a huge rounf of cheering an applause when the sun rice gets scanned. Something like that. And you'd pay me $50,000 for that, I asked. Let's say, 10,000 a scream, up to a maximum of $100,000, tax free of course. It depends if we buy a 10 second or a 30 second spot. I'm leaving that to teh booking agent, and they're getting back to me with figures. At present I don't even know how many television stations I own. Just one I think. We'll hit them with the tag, "I was shocked about the high price of groceries, and set out to do something about it." We're going to tie it in with our whole rice campaign, which is set in the third world, and under the heading, the control of women and girls, he said. So by buying a packet of rice, you are freeing women and girls from poverty, I asked?

That is the impression we will be attempting to create, he said. There will be another message, "never give short weight, in a legal transaction". Have you given any thought to how you plan to invest the 100 million you will be getting, he asked? When will I be getting it, I asked. Just as soon as I get married, or get my legal rights restored, I thought I heard him say. You are probably so wealthy you don't need another 100 million. It's not that, I said. How much have you earned in the last 10 years, he asked? 10 years, I said? Yes, he said, since you were 14, til now, how much do you think you have earned, and how much have you spent? I have no idea, I said. When I was 23, he said, I did my first painting. It was about the return of Christ, from that Nostradamus quote "He will appear again in the east..." It was both literal and figurative, well actually it wasn't a painting,it was crayon on cardboard, but it was very good. Where is it now, I asked. Don't know, he said, probably burned, but the sky came up just as I imagined it. What was it, I asked? It was a whole circle of clouds, and the man was standing on a hill at Whakatane, looking east, and pointing east. Oh, I see, I said, but I couldn't imagine it. I'm building a fleet of aiircraft carriers he said. Where I asked? In China he said, there will be twelve to replace the Dragonfly. What is the Dragonfly, I asked? It was China's first aircraft carrier, but it disappeared in a storm on its return trip from New Zealand to China he said. What happened to teh crew, I asked? They all survived, he said. The Admiral made plans for such an eventuality, and they all made their way back home. I spoke to the captain. More bullshit I said. Yes, more bullshit, he agreed. Do you know how many soldiers I have. Nope, I tried to look disinterested. Over 200 million, he said. In China, I asked. Yes. The leadership are mine, the rest will follow. I see, I said. You know what I don't get, I said, is what you want from me.                           more
