I rang your office on Friday afternoon and told your secretary that I have been charged with two criminal acts, 2634 -Indecent Assault On Boy Under 12 and 2631- Indecently Assaults Female Under 12.
The point is, I was visited at my home after I rang the police on Thursday 11th October 2012 to say I had been driving down Church Street in Maketu when a man had run out onto the street in front of me carrying what looked like a brick or a rock. He stood in the road in front of my car, so I had to slow to a crawl to avoid running into him, however I had only been driving at about 20kph.
He threw the brick with
extreme force at my windscreen, but hit the top of my bonnet just by the
windscreen, and smashed the glass, but causing only a couple of large
cracks, and some glass to fall off inside the car. He then punched me in
the face, through my open driver's window, as I passed him, then as soon as he was out of my way I sped off and went home.
I rang the police after I had taken the groceries out of my car, and they came to my home and arrested my for alleged indecent assault on two children. This charge is completely trumped up and tehy know it. I was in Church stree on my way home from town on a completely lawful purpose. I was there to se Mr Walters, a respected Komatua of the local marae whose drive way is about 20 metres behind where my car was parked. I had to walk past a group of children, about four or five, who were sitting in the sun on a little hill.
As they were about two or three metres away from the footpath I walked over to them, but an adult who was there asked me to go away, so I did. I had not been there more than a minute or two. I did not approach to withing more than a metre of them and at no time did I sid down with them, or touch any of them. Although they did not explain why they wanted me to leave, I was happy to, but since I had been asked to leave, I decided to go home, and to talk to Mr Walters about the restoration of teh carvings at another marae, which was my reason for visiting him at his home, another day.
